Yes, I do have obnoxious neighbors, but that is not an excuse to hear my neighbors above me through the duct that connects to my apartment. I never really took noise into account because it's nyc, what can you expect... My old apartment was considerably better in regards to acoustics. You can hear everything from the elevator dinging (and I'm far away from it on my hall), to people floors above talking. Management, from my experience, hasn't been very effective in addressing this and more or less has proposed illogical resolutions to rearranging my furniture rather than choosing to address the concern from a community standpoint. This place does get rowdy and I question if management is on top of that, because noise complaints are round the clock here.
